Full of grace, pride and beauty, the peacock has, since, ages, been a favorite not only in India but across all cultures.
The peacock itself serves as the conveyance of Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva and
Goddess Parvati. Even Lord Krishna is always depicted with a peacock plume.
The male species of this swan-sized bird has a brilliant blue
breast, a long slender neck, a white patch around its eyes and a fan-shaped
beautiful array of blue and green-bronze tail feathers.
This
stunning, brilliantly colored bird reflects the beautiful cultural diversity
that one finds in India and so, on January 31, 1963, the peacock was declared
to be the National Bird of India.
To commemorate this historic event, I present to you The Pride Collection - earrings that reflect the form, colour and beauty of the peacock.
