The Pride of the Peacock

Full of grace, pride and beauty, the peacock has, since, ages, been a favorite not only in India but across all cultures.

The peacock itself serves as the conveyance of Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Even Lord Krishna is always depicted with a peacock plume.

The male species of this swan-sized bird has a brilliant blue breast, a long slender neck, a white patch around its eyes and a fan-shaped beautiful array of blue and green-bronze tail feathers.

This stunning, brilliantly colored bird reflects the beautiful cultural diversity that one finds in India and so, on January 31, 1963, the peacock was declared to be the National Bird of India.

To commemorate this historic event, I present to you The Pride Collection - earrings that reflect the form, colour and beauty of the peacock.

The Bear in Love

On February 14, people all across the world celebrate Valentine's Day, or The Feast of St. Valentine.

A popular account states that St. Valentine of Rome was imprisoned for performing weddings of soldiers who were forbidden to wed and for ministering to the Christians. The story goes on to say that while in prison, he healed his jailer's sick daughter and, before his execution, wrote her a letter, signing it simply as 'Your Valentine'.
This feast later flourished into a celebration of romantic love sometime in the 18th Century. Today, the symbols of Valentine's Day include hearts, roses, doves and Cupid.

Here's a little something I've come up with for the month of looooooovveee.....
